Artathon 4 of 47: The Life of the River Gipping
The ‘The Life of the River Gipping‘ mural was painted on a wall along the river path below the Old Cattle market in 2003 by school kids under the tutelage of a local artist. It contained a dozen or so scenes with a maritime thread. The mural has since been painted over several times by various street art projects (a minor point that the Artathon brochure fails to mention).
The first picture shows part of the original mural while the second shows part of what has replaced it.
