Artathon 3 of 47: Triple Mycomorph
Three rising animal-like forms with small heads form this cute looking metal sculpture to be found in the small formal garden immediately to the rear of Christchurch Mansion. My interpretation is at odds with its classifaction on the RACNS site which files it under a post-war British style known as the ‘geometry of fear’. By the artist Bernard Reynolds it was commissioned by Tom Gondris as a memorial to his parents who ‘disappeared’ during WWII. It can be found on the green route of the town’s Artathon.
